Sightseeing entry starts at 9:30am. On weekdays the last admission is 3:30pm, and the Abbey's visit page says visitors can stay until 4:30pm. On Saturdays the last admission is 3:00pm. The Abbey's own pages give slightly different Saturday opening times, 9:00am and 9:30am; plan on 9:30am. General admission includes the Cloisters, College Garden, Chapter House and Pyx Chamber.

Closures
The Abbey is a working church and says it is sometimes subject to closure at short notice for special services and state occasions. Dean's Yard may also close for security reasons. Hours for the Galleries, St Margaret's, the café and shop
The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Galleries open from 9:30am with last entry at 2:00pm on weekdays and 3:00pm on Saturdays, closed Sundays. St Margaret's Church was open 11:00am to 3:30pm on 27 October 2026. The Cellarium Café opens at 8:00am on visitor days and the Abbey shop from 9:15am to 6:30pm, Sundays included.
The quietest time to arrive
